We’re Honored to do Our Part!
Joining this movement was the brainchild of the Department of English Professor, Dr. Mary Lawson, and carried out by the students of her English 1301 M/W class. Getting to know Dr. Lawson, you’ll quickly realize this cause is not far from her character. She’s a great professor, humble, fair and compassionate. She selected Food Insecurity as the theme of this semester and has helped to educate and enlighten her students on the lasting affects of hunger and the lack of access for many, to nutritious food alternatives within our own communities. Dr. Lawson has been professional, yet passionate about her students and their well-being throughout the entire semester, even bringing nutritious snacks each morning for everyone.
Dr. Lawson has chosen to “Take Action” by joining The Little Free Pantry ‘s Mini Pantry Movement and lead her class through the process of researching, planning, seeking donations and constructing the Little Free Pantry of Katy, TX.
